Random Thoughts 2: Colouring Books Rock.

Hi 😀 !

So I was thinking about what fun post I can do, and colouring books came to my mind !

I have a soft spot for these new colouring books are quite popular right now. I really enjoy colouring to relax sometimes and would love to share what I have so far ! Bear in mind that I’m no professional haha but I really really do enjoy it !

I have loads of  stuff that is still a work in progress but I’m still gonna show it to you guys :D.

If you would like to share anything that you have worked on please do ! I think you can share photos in the comments section 😉

Please share your favourite colouring books too! I would love to buy more! Haha ❤

Just because we are all grown up doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy colouring ❤

Ok so so far I have purchased three colouring books, I am going to share them here in the order of how I bought them, saving my favourite for last ;). ❤

My first colouring book was this one here, titled:

Zen Colouring – Advanced Art Therapy – Animals

Obviously I bought something related to animals lol, people that are close to me and are reading this are probably rolling their eyes hahah. Too obsessed with animals.

So here are some of the things I coloured in:

  • The lone butterfly.

This one the more simpler ones I know (I have better ones I promise), but i really liked it. It was easy to fill in and I enjoyed how symmetrical it was. I left it filled in on its own because I love how it now stands out from all the other ones 🙂

  • The Mellow Jellies

Screen Shot 2017-09-21 at 11.38.22

I loved doing these ! Especially the rasta one :3 They are so cool and flowy, they remind me of the cool jellies that were in that animation movie Shark Tale haha !

Like I said though, I’m no professional but I guess, with colouring there is no right or wrong just fun !

  • The Dancing Elephants

Screen Shot 2017-09-21 at 11.38.31

Vibrant colours and funky prints ! When I saw this one it just reminded me of music. So I had fun mixing up their colours to make them contrast as much as I can :3

  • The Shells on the Shore

Screen Shot 2017-09-21 at 11.38.39

Ok ok I Know this one is not finished heavily yet but I love colouring depending on my mood and I don’t mind taking forever to finish them (guilty!). This one kind of reminded me of a nice sheet of granite so I tried to go for it. Haha I make it sound so serious, but yeah it’s true, that’s what I imagined.

  • The Gorgeous Scarab

Screen Shot 2017-09-21 at 11.38.48

Bugs are so cool! So so cool. This one I really want to finish but I am so indecisive about choosing all the other one’s colours that I feel like I should leave it right now in case I spoil it! Haha geez I can be an overthinker sometimes.

  • The Beautiful Reef

Screen Shot 2017-09-21 at 11.38.56

Under the sea! (little mermaid childhood flashback <3) All the different fish swimming about! It’s all about the vibrant colours and contrasts here! 😀

  • Singing Whales

Screen Shot 2017-09-21 at 11.39.03

Whales have to be one of my top ten favourite animals, so beautiful ❤ The whales I have here are cute though! Funky patterns, stripes and dots and more. I was actually considering getting one of these tattooed somewhere…hmm maybe one day….

  • Camo Chameleon

Screen Shot 2017-09-21 at 11.39.12

Reptiles are also one of my top ten! I used to own many as pets and I think they beautiful and amazing ❤ I Kept this chameleon to a cute standard in green here but I tried to kick it up with some nice oranges, reds, purples and yellows, I’m happy with it :3

  • The Beauty and the Poisonous

Screen Shot 2017-09-21 at 11.39.21

I left my favourite picture from this book for last. I enjoyed doing this one so much I didn’t want to finish it but at the same time I wanted to see it finished hahahah!

Snakes are beautiful and after finishing this one I learnt that I also love to colour in flowers. They are so relaxing to do!

Ok so that was what I worked on from my first book, I bought this book from: book depository (has FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE http://www.bookdepository.com/?a_aid=kimsbookshelf ) just in case you would want to check it out 🙂

My Second colouring book  was this one here, titled:

Zen Colouring – Ocean

Screen Shot 2017-09-21 at 17.32.44

I know I know lol, another nature related one. Well, not to spoil the post for you but even the one after this is nature related lol (It’s a good one I promise!).

With this one I didn’t fill in as many as the first one. No particular reason because I really like it, I guess it depends what I feel like colouring on some days and others.

So here is what I coloured in:

  • Waves

Screen Shot 2017-09-21 at 17.28.35

Colour, colour and more colour!! The vibrant movements of the waves and patterns makes me so happy. Of course it’s not finished yet lol. I know  I know, working on it!

Sorry only one from this book here but I’ll try to keep you guys updated on what I start and finish. 🙂 Hopefully if I manage 🙂

Bought this book also from: book depository (has FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE http://www.bookdepository.com/?a_aid=kimsbookshelf ) just in case you would want to check it out 🙂

My final and most favourite colouring book! *drumroll*….is titled here:

Animorphia – An Extreme Colouring and Search Challenge

Screen Shot 2017-09-21 at 17.33.46

Yes it is another animal related book (I’m very predictable I know lol). This one is by far the most intricate and imaginative one I own. I love love love it! All the images are so unique and funky, it just pushes you to your creative limits! Two worlds merged into one – Animals morphing into doodles- Animorphia !

As seen in the title of the book ‘’An extreme colouring and search challenge’’ which means that apart from all the colouring this book also includes a search challenge. The challenge is shown at the last pages of the book where it will ask you to find random hidden doodles from all around the book. Awesome!

The perfect way to unwind and relax.

Now this book is much more detailed than any of the other ones I have shown you but believe it or not I actually have completed one! A full one! Woooo haha ❤

So here are some of the things that I coloured in:

  • The Rise of the Pheonix

Screen Shot 2017-09-21 at 11.39.30

I enjoyed doing this one so much! I just let the colours flow through me and see it come to life step by step whilst colouring kept motivating me to finish it.

I am super happy with how it turned out.

  • All Seeing owl

Screen Shot 2017-09-21 at 11.39.56

I loved this as well. I tried to give the owl different feather textures by using different colours and the results made me happy. I risked it but it turned out cool 😀

Bought this book also from: book depository (has FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE http://www.bookdepository.com/?a_aid=kimsbookshelf ) just in case you would want to check it out 🙂
Like I said earlier, no rules in colouring, just good relaxing vibes 😀 ❤

Also, just in case you were wondering what pens I used to colour in, I used the Stadeler fine liners in all different colours I could find! Here is a picture below:

I hope that you enjoyed this post and thank you for reading !! I hope to think of more cool posts I can come up with to share with you all. Do you have any cool and fun ideas for posts that you want to share? Let me know in the comments! ❤

Thanks so much 🙂

As always, peace.
